Frequently asked questions

Practical answers on order size, samples, lead time, printing, shipping and payment.

What is your minimum order quantity?

Minimum order quantity depends on the tape type and whether it is printed. Plain tape can be ordered in much smaller quantities than a printed design, because a printed run needs a cylinder engraved first. We treat the MOQ as negotiable for a first order, and mixed designs, widths and colours can be combined in one shipment, so the effective minimum is usually one mixed container rather than one product.

Can I get a sample before ordering?

Yes. For printed tape we always produce a digital proof for approval, and a physical pre-production sample can be arranged so you can test adhesion and colour on your own cartons. Tell us the specification you are considering and we will confirm what can be supplied as a sample.

How long does production take?

Lead time is quoted with each order and depends on the tape, the quantity and whether new artwork has to be engraved. For printed tape the clock starts when you approve the proof. Stock items generally move faster than a new custom design.

Do you print our own brand on the tape?

Yes, and private label is the majority of our export business. Send a logo, a product name, a barcode or a handling instruction and our designers will prepare print-ready artwork free of charge. We print up to six colours, and the cylinder is retained on file so your next order matches.

Can you keep our factory details off the packaging?

Yes. We can supply neutral cartons and labels without our company name, which is normal for distributors and own-brand sellers.

What payment methods do you accept?

Payment terms are agreed per order and confirmed on the proforma invoice. Discuss the terms with our export team when you request the quotation, because the arrangement depends on the order value and whether you are a new or repeat customer.

What shipping terms can you work to?

We quote FOB, CIF and other terms as agreed with your freight forwarder. We hold a foreign trade operator registration covering goods and technology import and export, so we contract directly for export.

Which documents do you provide?

We prepare the commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin and the documents your destination requires. Third-party inspection can be arranged if your buyer asks for it.

Do you test the tape?

Yes. Production runs are checked for 180° peel strength, initial tack, base film thickness and appearance, and printed tape is checked for registration and colour. We also commissioned independent CTI testing, which measured an average peel strength of 6.2 N/25 mm against a specified minimum of 5 N/25 mm and found no detectable lead, cadmium, mercury, chromium or bromine.

Can you match a colour we already use?

Send a colour reference, a physical sample or the Pantone value. We match to it and keep the record on file so a later reorder reproduces the same colour rather than an approximation.

What is the shelf life of the tape?

Shelf life depends on the adhesive and on how the rolls are stored. Store them away from direct sunlight in a dry, moderate-temperature place and the tape keeps its properties for longer. Tell us your intended storage conditions and we will advise on the grade.

Are you a factory or a trading company?

We are a manufacturer. Hebei MayGi Packaging Products Co., Ltd. was registered on 16 April 2021, and the team has been coating and slitting tape since 2013. Coating, printing, slitting and packing all happen on our own site, and the company also holds a foreign trade operator registration so it can export directly.
